Cyber Essentials is another level up from Cyber Essentials. You can’t just fill out a form and get certified. An assessor actively scans your network and tests a sample of your devices in person. Cyber Essentials Plus is the difference between saying your security works (like Cyber Essentials) and proving that it does. Both certifications cover the same controls:
But with Essentials Plus, an assessor comes out to test everything.
They take samples of your laptops, desktops, servers and mobile devices, then scans them for known weaknesses. Internet connections are scanned and they’ll review how your emails and browser deal with dodgy files.
To get Cyber Essentials Plus, you need to have passed your Cyber Essentials certification first. If you haven’t got that far, we can help.

Certification body fees usually start around £1,400 and go up for bigger estates. We’ll provide a full quote before we start.
From initial scope to final report, the time to make any fixes depends on what we find in the readiness audit.
Yes. And your standard Cyber Essentials certificate has to be less than three months old when you complete Plus. if you leave it too long you’ll have to recertify your Cyber Essentials and then reapply.
You’ll have 30 days to fix any problems we found and be retested.
